I have been teaching in Japan since 1987. It has been a long and winding road to the place I am today. I would not say it has been especially difficult, though it has been challenging enough at times. I had no aspirations of greatness, and as you know--I'm not great. But I have felt led to teach--or I might say, to "motivate to learn." My greatest joy has come to me through my children and my students (all of whom I consider more of "my" children). Of course my wonderful husband is a joy too-I love you, honey!
I roughed it through some difficult weather conditions to take a course at Edinburgh University in August. The course was "Teaching English for Medicine"--and you are reaping the benefits of my newfound knowledge now!

Hi, I remember the day very well that you came to Hill Place with that poncho!!! Do you wear that in Japan too and brag about your visiting Edinburgh? Now I think I should have bought one, too.
