I have been teaching in Japan since 1987. It has been a long and winding road to the place I am today. I would not say it has been especially difficult, though it has been challenging enough at times. I had no aspirations of greatness, and as you know--I'm not great. But I have felt led to teach--or I might say, to "motivate to learn." My greatest joy has come to me through my children and my students (all of whom I consider more of "my" children). Of course my wonderful husband is a joy too-I love you, honey!
My children got a chance to play with the children who waited all day in the hot sun to be seen by the doctors at the clinic. They waited without complaining, thankful for the chance to get much needed health care.
